It’s upon us!
Ten years later 🙂
It’s upon us!
Ten years later 🙂
Well, I do my best to not do such things. Plus, ever since they found out the earth wasn’t flat, it made it THAT much easier.
So what have I been doing.
Mostly just practicing.
BUT! I have a nifty fun show in a few days, so I’ll have a full update then!
Wish me luck!
HH
P.s. Someone get me season tickets for Orlando City
that is all
Sometimes I forget how much of me is music. I end up away from it. and I think, “what am I doing?” I’m listening and following. after the thing I love more the all other.
I’m so crazy I forget this. I forget the basic facts.
Or lose sight of them.
So many incredible things have come from me be a part of this magical musical journey.
Case in point: DragonCon 2014
I’m just out chasing my dream. Following my music. and I land a job working for one of my hero’s.
HUH. I work for Space Ghost. SPACE GHOST. SPACE GHOST!?!
and he brings me along to meet all these other people I love. It’s NUTS!!!
I got to stay at his condo for the week. I was riding MARTA and exploring all over atlanta.
I got to go to the studio while he was recording promos for “The League” on FXX. COOL as shit. the guy is a PRO with this voice over action. Incredible to watch.
Not to mention I got to have some BAD ASS BARBECUE at Fox Brothers AND Pig n Chick.
It was great to be out and about exploring the world. One of my favorite past times.
I mean, I met Grant Imahara, life long hero, on my way to the bathroom…
I’m making all sorts of cool friends. Here’s my buddies from “The Guild.” Awesome guys who are always good for a dinner invite!
and the zombie who ate Laurie on “The Walking Dead.”
One of my favorite random meetings of the con! He was just a fan in line to meet my buddy Space Ghost, and we got to talking and it turns out he was the “Walker” that ate her! SUPER COOL!!!
NUTS. JUST NUTS-O.
and all because I’m pursuing the music I love so much.
I forget.
But I am always thankful. ALWAYS.
Check this out. Sam Huntington from “Being Human”. AWESOME GUY
and our section mate and killer voice actor Mike Mcfarland. This guy get’s the award for most helpful and biggest class act at the con
Our seat was right next to Trace and Frank from Mystery Science theater 3000
GREAT guys
and of course I got to catch up w/ Joel Hodgson and Dana Snyder. Up at the secret bar at the top of the hotel .
Here’s my view from the table. at the workplace. 🙂

So there’s the bragging portion.
Did I mention Atlanta is beautiful? Ivy everywhere. The traffic sucks ASS, but man, there are some parts that are just so pretty. I did a lot of travel on foot and was DEFINITELY enjoying the weather. I even got COLD at night??!?!
I met so many cool friends who work for the con as well. All the volunteers were awesome.
and George (Space Ghost) even brought me up during his panel and let me plug the record (which I SWEAR to you is a real thing. It’s just taking a long time!) before spitting water on me.
I’m not sure what the official total was on attendance, but there were a BUTT LOAD of people there. 70k maybe? and I saw some just KILLER costumes.
Oh, AND we got dissed by Jeri Ryan! hahahaha One of the highlights of the con. She gave us the good ole fashioned wave off as her handlers refused to let us in the freight elevator that can hold 20 people. they were 3 deep….. guess she needed the extra room for all that ego!
OH!!! I forgot to mention I met Ralph Macchio !!! He hooked me up w a signed picture for my wife for her birthday. Thanks Ralph!
And this is just the beginning. I have all sorts of cool stuff in the pipe coming up. Things I need to do and get done.
All because I’ve been chasing this crazy music dream of mine.
Follow your heart, kids. It won’t steer you wrong
Someplace’s own,
HH
So my whole life I’ve been a nerd. As a kid, my walls were covered in comic books. Love, love loved them. Loved Star trek. Star wars. Had plenty of super hero action figures. Crushed HARD CORE on The X Files. and even went out with famed comic book illustrator Billy Tucci’s Niece. (he’s the creator of SHI, and illustrator for both Marvel and DC).
I lost track of those hobbies for a while. But I never lost my love. Hell, even my songs now have reference to all sorts of nerdy, magical and mysterious things.
So when the opportunity to work with my hero George Lowe aka SPACE GHOST (yep, SPACE GHOST: COAST TO COAST!) I jumped on it!
So we headed on out this weekend for what would be my maiden voyage as assistant to the stars. That’s my self created title. haha

(Me, Space Ghost, and Master Shake of Aqua teen: hunger force)
My real title should be super helper, pack mule, goods fetcher, artist wrangler, phone call maker, schedule checker, note taker, lost stuff finder, coffee getter, packin up and unpacking money collecting picture taker, but that’s not nearly as fun
What a crazy good time!
and who knew how much hard work Cons actually are. BRUTAL!!!!! (I wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t been there) but man, what an incredible time.
This was all a trial run for the big mahmah jahmah in Atlanta (solid rhyme if I do say so myself) called DRAGON CON.
So look for that on the horizon. I’m so glad I finally got the opportunity to embrace the nerd I am and hang out with some like minded folks!
What a great time. THE CON AWAITS!!! (and probably more nights of little sleep, trail mix, and sleeping on floors)

(Me with *class act* Chad Rook of THE FLASH)
Someplace’s own,
HH
Yep. I’m pretty excited. The tracks have been mastered. We aren’t done yet, but the audio is almost there.
Better cross the T’s and dot the I’s, it’s almost go time! (for me anyway 🙂
HH
I never once imagined in my life being in the place I am now. Doing the things I’m doing.
Having the backing and support of the musicians and friends that I have. It’s so crazy.
Getting the chance to work, hang out and become friends with heroes.
and that the silly songs I dreamed up in my head, would come to take the shape they’ve taken.
It’s an experience of mythical proportions.
Honestly, I hope to have some news release wise sometime in the next months or so, So I can share these things I’ve given myself fits over for so long now.
I really genuinely, honestly, so greatly appreciate you sticking around,
Sorry it’s taken so long. I’ll make it worth your while.
Someplace’s own,
HH
You know, I have no idea. I’ve been doing this for a while. and I still haven’t figured it out. I just wrote one.
I’m not what you call a prolific writer, hell, far from it. I have a friend in Nashville, a fella named Jordan Eastman, who told me he writes ten songs a week. TEN SONGS A WEEK.
To me, that’s crazy. I don’t even write ten songs a month. Or ten songs every 6 months probably. ( although I bet I do at least ten a year. So there’s always that!….)
They just pop out. I’ll go through a spell where i’m just content to play the songs I have, and run scales and exercises on my guitar. and then one day. A song is born.
and there are lots of half songs, quarter songs. Lines, Ideas. Most of which never get finished. But some days whole songs just pop out.
and it’s the craziest damn thing.
Sometimes it’s in a notebook. Sometimes it’s on the computer. Sometimes it’s on a junk mail envelope pressed against the steering wheel while I’m driving (Disclaimer: Probably not the smartest or safest idea)
They just come when they come.
Who knows where they come from? It’s the craziest thing
Someplace’s own,
HH
As some of you may or may not know, I am a big soccer fan. I first got into the sport by chance. A mere 4 years ago. During the World Cup in 2010.
I kept seeing previews for “USA vs ENGLAND” USA vs ENGLAND” all the monster truck jam style hype that Sport channels put into upcoming rounds of gold and tennis matches and all sorts of sports related things. So I thought to myself. “OK, I like sports, I’ll bite, lets see what this is all about.”
The next thing I know, Im watching Argentina play Mexico, on Telemundo, Spanish language broadcast, and even though I can’t understand a word they are saying, I’m screaming my head off, and totally in love with the game.
It Clicked.
Since then, I have gone on to support my local hometown club regularly, the Orlando City Lions (who will be making their MLS debut next year) and have been to a couple USA national team games as well.
(The Picture above is from when I won tickets off the TV to see the USA play against Antigua and Barbuda)
Anyway, It’s that time of year again. (or that time of the last 4 years, again) and the USA is heading to the World Cup in Brazil. We had a tough draw, with Ghana, Portugal and Germany in our group.
So I have been scouring the internet, looking for articles and insight and understanding as to who our team will field, and what could happen. I’m all amped up on speculation.
Soccer (football) is such an incredible sport, and once you get it, no other game can compare.
Sorry that’s not music related, but it is life related. and it’s probably the 2nd most exciting thing happening this year (other then the release of my EP).
On music related business, I have all the tracks off the EP done. I just need to sit with them, (as well as the additional audio track…shhhh) and then we will finalize the mixes and off they’ll go to be mastered.
Once they are mastered, then it’s off to be pressed. and once they are presses? Well, game on.
This is a SUPER exciting year for many reasons, and I’m looking forward to what the future brings.
Someplaces own,
HH

So I decided to go out and play an open mic with a friend of mine. We’ve been working on a few songs for some weeks and i thought maybe we should road test em.
We went out to St. Pete. Which has always been my home scene (even though I live about an hour away) and there’s a great little listening venue there called the Hideaway Cafe. The very first time I ever played in my life, When I mustered the courage, finally, to try my songs out live, I drove to an open mic at a little hole in the wall bar there. Way out to the burg. I have yet to regret it.
This is a new song, called “Vercingetorix”. I don’t have a great gauge on which of my songs are good, so I let Alexis make the call on this one.
It’s NOT on the record (maybe I shouldn’t be playing it yet haha) But it seems to resonate well, so why not, right?
Anyway, It went pretty well, and here’s some videographic proof should you need more convincing. or you know, just want to hear it.
Thank you for your time,
HH

So, is it possible to go balls out whilst playing Adult alternative music on an acoustic guitar?
Have a look at this photograph as proof.
I dedicate this to all the bands who took the time to be my friend. and all the friends I’ve made in bands. Hell, all the friends who’ve supported me since 2006.
You guys are my heart and soul. We deserve better.
I’m just waiting on a coupla bux more.
This one goes out to all the dirty poor kids. Shits about to get real.
